Race Overview
Our sprint distance triathlon is the perfect entry point for beginners looking to dip their toes into the thrilling world of triathlons. With a laid-back, chill vibe, it strikes a balance between a casual training session and a full-blown organized race. Participants can expect a shorter swim, bike, and run, making it less daunting for newcomers. There is an absence of lifeguards in the water and road closures during the biking and running segments, fostering a self-sufficient, grassroots atmosphere. It's an excellent way to challenge oneself while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow athletes in a low-pressure, supportive environment.
Swim
750m (.47mi)
- Start at boat ramp C beach, you must be even with the South east corner of the bathroom (green dotted line)
- Swim along the shoreline to the Garfunkle pavilion
- Once you are even with the pavilion swim back to the starting point

Bike
20km (12.4mi)(10.4mi)
- From boat ramp C head left and do a counterclockwise loop (green arrow)
- Stay on the road the whole time. There is plenty of shoulder space and not much traffic.
- Just follow the road the entire time. The only turn you need is at the intersection of W shore Dr and SW Scoggins Valley rd-the stop sign after you ride over the dam (red error in image below). Stop at the stop sign and make a safe left-hand turn.
- After that just follow the main road until you make it back to our starting point at boat ramp c
- Route is hilly but quite scenic!

Run
5km (3.1mi)
- Start at the parking lot next to the bathroom, head left and turn left again on the main road.
- Run on the road shoulder until you get to Gandalf’s trail head (also right where W Hankins comes into SW West Shore Dr). Turn around here and run back to the starting spot.
